W2 Professorship - Digital Production Technologies (m/f/d)

Your area of responsibility
- You represent the full scope of Digital Production Technologies teaching and research, with a particular focus on modern manufacturing and production systems, their planning, control, and automation, as well as simulation- and data-driven methods in digital production.
- You teach students practical methods and share your professional experience and expertise with them. To this end, you will teach courses in German and, where applicable, English across various degree programs and specializations within the faculty. Additionally, you actively contribute to the development of core modules in the fields of production engineering and industrial engineering.
- You will supervise project, bachelor’s and master’s theses, as well as perspectival PhD theses.
- You are involved in applied research and further develop the Production Technologies Laboratory.
- You establish and maintain research and technology transfer partnerships with partners in industry and academia, and actively raise third-party funding.
- You are engaged in the internationalization of the faculty, particularly through the development and maintenance of international partnerships and English-language courses, as well as in academic self-administration.
What you bring with you
- You are a dedicated and technically skilled professional who approaches the field of digital production technologies with enthusiasm and a spirit of innovation.
- You have successfully completed a university degree in engineering and demonstrate a particular aptitude for academic work (as evidenced by the quality of your PhD or an equivalent academic achievement).
- You have extensive professional experience in relevant areas of digital production systems or technology.
- You enjoy inspiring students about production engineering, digitalization, and the transformation of industrial value creation. Ideally, you are familiar with modern teaching practices and methods.
- Your profile is characterized by a collaborative and inclusive work style, as well as a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in fields such as robotics, AI, laser technology, materials science, or logistics.
